It is involved in phagocytosis, secretion of enzymes and inflammatory mediators, antibody-dependent cytotoxicity and clearance of immune complexes. In humans, it is a 50-70kDa typeI transmembrane activating receptor expressed by NK cells, T cells, monocytes, and macrophages.
